NEW FEATURE: Harvest Planning Tool
A key aspect of sustainable and practical forest management is developing a system to allow for consistent harvesting without reducing standing inventory or timber sizes and values over time. While many solutions exist, ranging from condition-based ad hoc management to growth-based harvest allowances, they come with substantial drawbacks or remain out of reach to the average landowner.
Our new harvest planning tool changes that by creating an easy-to-use and robust framework that any landowner can use to create consistent cashflows and harvests from a land base of any size.
Why It Works
By determining the desired age at final harvest of your trees and the acres on your land, you can easily determine how much of your land you can sustainably harvest every regular interval. While the tool also provides volume estimates that can be taken from FIA data via the Forest Growth tool or independent cruises, these are not used as the basis of the harvest determination. The only variables are those which are known and objective.
